Hi all. Just discovered this forum and recognise a few names from a while back. By way of a brief introduction I live in North Wales, am involved in a few shoots, enjoy both beating and shooting....and have an unhealthy passion for working my pointers, of which I have two, predominantly to help me count grouse.
I look forward ro scanning past posts and joining in discussions.
Have to say that for five minutes I wondered how on earth Hillmouse had seen more than one pointer on your avatar (yes, I did bump my nose on the screen to look more closely )
Then I saw your blogsite link
It's bookmarked too now.
Welcome to the board I "met" you on the working hpr forum. I seem to have moved across to setters and have 2 now, with the possibility of another on the way. We lost our working pointer last year and only have the one retired pointer.
Funnily enough, I think I actually met you last year. Did you come up to Lancashire on a pointer training weekend run my Meryl Asbury? And then go the pub afterwards? My husband did a talk for that weekend and Meryl and Peter invited us to have a meal with you. It was only when I came away, I realised who you were!
Hi Helen, yes its very odd when the virtual world makes it into reality! I must have been in the pub with you that night....and never made the connection either. I remember the evening well, but never asked about your 'internet life'
I am borrowing a setter this year to help with the counting so that should be fun, especially as he has had very little training!
Looking forward to meeting again...only this time we will make ourselves known!
Lol! I guess there would have been nothing to connect me as I was just the wife of the bloke who did the talk lol!
Good luck with the setter. Fantastic breed. I've totally fallen in love with the breed. Really lovely and soft. We were going to borrow a setter from Upperwood but if we get the other one, we should be ok for the counts.
